The A57 has a 5,000mAh battery with 45W wired charging. Notebookcheck measured it at 50% in 24 minutes and full in about 71 minutes. It also rates the battery for 1,200 charge cycles. Notebookcheck's one big complaint: real-world battery life came in a bit behind the older A56 despite the same capacity.

For a sense of Samsung's own pricing on the previous model, The Droid Guy's April 2026 roundup listed Samsung's mail-in battery fee for the Galaxy A56 at $69. That's not the A57 price, so get a quote through a Samsung service request, but it's a useful benchmark.
Is it the battery?
- Settings > Battery > Battery information shows health and cycle count where Samsung turns it on (it varies by region and software).
- Samsung Members > Support > Phone diagnostics gives Normal, Weak or Bad.
- Usage first. If one app is at the top of Settings > Battery, deal with that before blaming the battery.
- New phone, bad battery? Within the first year, that's a warranty claim. Don't pay for it.
Easy things to try first
- Update and restart. Samsung's monthly updates often include battery fixes.
- Turn on battery protection in Settings > Battery to slow long-term wear.
- Drop the screen to 60Hz if you need more hours. The 120Hz mode costs some battery.
- Use a 45W-capable charger and cable if charging seems slow.
DIY: one of the easier ones
The A57 is friendlier than most phones. A PBKreviews teardown scored it 9 out of 10 for repairability, and the battery is held with double-sided tape instead of stubborn glue. Notebookcheck says it's part of Samsung's Self-Repair Program. The easiest route is the frame-and-battery kit ($44.60 to $50.40), which comes with the battery already installed; you move the screen and boards over. You'll still need to open the glass back and reseal it afterward if you care about water resistance.
What to ask the shop
- Is it a genuine Samsung battery?
- Will you reseal the back for water resistance?
- What's the warranty on the battery and the work?
- Can I keep my data? (Back up anyway.)
Is it worth replacing?
Yes. At around $95 at a shop, a new battery is cheap next to a $599.99 phone that Notebookcheck says gets updates until 2032. Once your A57 drops into the high 70s for health, swap it and keep going. If the screen is cracked too, see the A57 screen repair cost guide and the Galaxy A57 repair page.
