The A57 5G went on sale in the US on April 9, 2026 at $549.99, and Samsung raised it to $599.99 in October, per Android Authority. It has a 6.7-inch Super AMOLED screen with Gorilla Glass Victus+ on the front and back, and an IP68 rating. Victus+ is good glass, but a face-down drop on a curb still wins.

How to get Samsung's price
Samsung's cracked screen page covers Galaxy S and Z phones in detail but leaves the A series off. To get a real number, sign in at Samsung's support site, start a repair request for your A57, and the mail-in or walk-in quote shows up there. You can also walk into a Samsung authorized service center or uBreakiFix for a free diagnostic and a quote before any work starts. Have your IMEI handy (dial *#06#).
Genuine vs aftermarket screens
Lots of shops will offer a cheaper aftermarket screen for A-series phones. Some are OLED, some are even cheaper LCD-style panels. The trade-off: worse color, lower brightness and a fingerprint sensor (it sits under the display on the A57) that may stop working well. Because the genuine kit is already under $130, ask for genuine. The savings from aftermarket are small and the downsides are daily.
Is it the screen?
- Cracked glass with working display: screen repair.
- Lines, black patches, a green tint or ghost touches: damaged panel, screen repair.
- Screen lifting from the frame: possible battery swelling. Stop charging and get it checked.
- Black screen, but it vibrates or rings: usually the screen, but have a tech confirm before you buy parts.
DIY
The A57 is unusually friendly for a phone. Notebookcheck notes it's part of Samsung's Self-Repair Program, and a teardown by PBKreviews scored it 9 out of 10 for repairability, with a separate USB-C board and a battery held with double-sided tape rather than tough glue. If you go DIY, the frame-and-screen kit is the easiest path since the screen comes pre-mounted. Heat, patience and a new adhesive seal are a must.
Warranty
Samsung's one-year US warranty doesn't cover drops, but A57s bought this year are still covered for defects like a display that develops lines without any damage. If that's you, ask for a warranty repair.
What to ask the shop
- Genuine Samsung screen or aftermarket?
- Does the price include a new frame, or are you reusing mine?
- Will the fingerprint sensor work, and can I test it before paying?
- How long is the warranty on the repair?
Is it worth fixing?
Yes, as long as the shop uses a genuine screen. Somewhere around $200 to $250 at a shop (or $29 with Care+) is a fair price on a phone that still costs $599.99 new and has updates promised until 2032, per Notebookcheck. See the Galaxy A57 repair page and our A57 battery replacement guide for other fixes.
