The S26 FE has a 4,900mAh battery with 45W wired charging and 15W wireless. That's the same size as the S25 FE, but a leaked EU energy label reported by SamMobile rated the S26 FE at up to 50 hours on a charge, about 7.5 hours more than the S25 FE, thanks to the more efficient Exynos 2500 chip.
How long the battery should last
Here's the number that actually matters: SamMobile reports the S26 FE is rated for 1,200 charge cycles before its health drops below 80%. That's fewer than the 2,000 cycles quoted for the S25 FE. If you run the battery from full to empty about once a day, 1,200 cycles is a bit over three years. Most people will hit the point where a new battery is worth it somewhere in year three or four.
What it costs
| Situation | Who | Cost |
|---|---|---|
| Battery defect, first year | Samsung warranty | $0 |
| Worn battery with Care+ | Samsung (capacity 79% or less) | Covered, service fees may apply |
| Out of warranty, genuine part | Samsung or uBreakiFix | Not published, get a quote |
| Out of warranty | Independent shop | Part plus about $60 labor |
uBreakiFix by Asurion is a Samsung authorized repair provider. It doesn't post FE battery prices, but it runs free diagnostics, quotes before work, warranties repairs for a year and will beat a local competitor's published price by $5. For a sense of where Samsung prices batteries on other models, The Droid Guy's April 2026 roundup listed $89 for the Galaxy S25 and $69 for the Galaxy A56. Those aren't S26 FE prices, just a ballpark.
Check battery health before you book
- Settings > Battery > Battery information shows health and cycle count on phones where Samsung enables it. It's switched on by model and region, so you may not see it.
- Samsung Members > Support > Phone diagnostics gives a Normal, Weak or Bad verdict. Normal roughly means 80% or more of original capacity.
- Settings > Battery usage shows which apps are eating power. A brand-new phone that drains fast usually has a misbehaving app or is still finishing setup and indexing.
Easy things to try first
- Give it a week. New phones restore apps, index photos and sync in the background for days.
- Update and restart. Samsung ships fixes in monthly updates.
- Check for a hot phone. Battery drain plus heat with light use often points to an app stuck in a loop.
- Turn on battery protection in Settings > Battery to cap charging and slow wear long term.
DIY?
The S26 FE isn't on Samsung's US self-repair list yet. A battery swap means getting past adhesive and the IP68 seal, and an independent shop's labor of around $60 is cheap compared with cracking a $119 screen while prying. Leave this one to a pro.
What to ask the shop
- Is the battery a genuine Samsung part?
- Will you reseal the phone, and will it keep water resistance?
- What warranty comes with the new battery?
- Will my data stay on the phone? (Back up anyway.)
Is it worth replacing?
Right now, use the warranty. A couple of years from now, when health dips into the 70s, a battery swap is well worth it on an FE you still like. It's a lot cheaper than a new phone. If your screen is also cracked, see the S26 FE screen repair cost guide and the Galaxy S26 FE repair page.
